We wanted to invent a dating site that was more fun, more interactive and less scary than the traditional way - so we could get people talking and meeting who probably wouldn't dream of joining a conventional dating agency and have the chance to get to hear about each other. You don't have to be 'looking for love' – let's just get a wider dating pool of super-singles, resulting in some good, old-fashioned, decent dates!

It's different too because YOU AND YOUR connect are both involved; the connect who describes the single has login details too – gaining the ability to search through the latest potentials online, and recommend them to their single friends to take a look at (just like the meddling we all do offline!).

Having a connect involved means that checking out a potential can be done together- and connects seeking out suitable types for each other generates a little matchmaking amusement – and not by a computer, but by someone who actually knows you.

JUST A PROFILE (becoming a 'free profile' user)

You, or your connect, can add a simple profile to the site. Your profile will be available for 3 months (unless you cancel it of course). You won't be able to send messages to other users, but you can choose favourites, and the connect who described you will be able to matchmake (drop 'potentials' into a folder for you to check out). The profile will be seen online at IFS just like any other profile. The free user can sit back and wait to see if someone likes them, or wait until there are more users in their area. A standard search will show you everyone in the site and if you don't think there's anyone suitable right now you may want to just add your profile, wait for more people to join in your area, and THEN join the site to be able to contact other singles.

The free user will be emailed when: someone likes them (someone has added you to their 'favourites' folder), or someone has sent them a message, and then can decide whether to join to be able to view such details.

JOINING introfriends® (becoming a 'subscribing' user)

It costs £20 (plus VAT) to subscribe fully to introfriends®, and you get 3 months free usage of all the introfriends® functions. The single can buy this, or receive it as a gift from a connect. After joining the single will get a profile, a user name and password to a private area where they can:

* Choose favourites
* See who likes the look of them
* Send and received messages (safely, at the site)
* Recognise new users in their area
* View any recommendations their connect has made
* Block messages, make notes about potentials, and ignore specific people from future searches

The connect that described the single gets login details as well. So they can search our site too - being able to recognise new users in their connects' area, and, if they find someone they think is a 'potential', drop the details into a folder for their single friends to check out.

Nothing will be added to our site without the complete approval of the single friend. All your personal details are safe, as are your connects'. No one will know who you are, or your email address.

You CAN join the site yourself. You can put your own personal details in, and then you'll be asked to tell us the email address of the connect who is going to describe you.

They say you can tell a person by their connects so think about whom you choose!!!

A form will be sent to your connect to fill out. Nothing gets added to our site without your permission so the description your connect submits will be sent back to you for your approval. You can then add your comments, and upload/change your photo.

Your profile online will look exactly the same as all the other profiles in the site and users will not know that you found the site yourself and didn't join the site the other way round (i.e. a connect began the process for you).

Gosh – what a nice connect! You must think your connect is worth hearing about!

Are they single? Are they fabulous? Would they cringe at the idea of typical online dating? If yes – then this site might be for them……

Firstly, you need to think (or talk to your connect) about how they would feel about being recommended to our fabulous dating pool. If you think they'll be up for it start by filling out the 'add my single friend' form and describe them to us.

An email will be sent to your connect explaining what this site does, that you want to say how super they are, and they'll be asked to approve your words. If your connect isn't happy about being online at the site, then they can say no. If they think it's a good idea they can add comments to what you've already written, and change or upload a photo.

After successfully joining you'll be able to meddle too; recommending other singles to your connect as potential suitors (you'll see who's new in their area or can do a standard search of all the singles in the site).
